Bowling Fun!

Saturday afternoon, we had a much needed family outing. We first went over to my mom's to have hamburgers and hotdogs. I love home grilled burgers...yummy! And, my mom makes the best potato salad.

Next we traveled to Fast Lanes for a little bowling. I'm ashamed to admit this, but James beat us the first game! However, I came back with vengeance and won the 2nd game :)

After bowling, we made a quick trip to Orange Leaf, which has become our new favorite place. James piled all kinds of stuff into his cup from gummy worms to puppy chow...nearly a full pound of sugar!

It was a great day and just what our little family needed. Hope you have a great week!

I like his style!

Sweet Boy

I grabbed my camera and took a few shots of my sweet boy this weekend. He's growing up way too fast!

I got a dollar, I got a dollar

This boy will do anything for a dollar. Anything! So I dared him to eat a lime from my cherry limeade. Here's how it went down:

{disclaimer: I did, in fact, compensate him $1 for his efforts since he almost ralphed in his plate}

I made it!

I randomly decided to enter a Pioneer Woman Phone Pic contest and my picture made it to the first round!

I took this pic on the way home from picking up Gene in KS. It's this little roadside park beside these beautiful red dirt mountains. I think I've posted it on here before, but go check it out!!

Adventure

I took James and his friend to our local park. They had to check out the tunnel that goes under one of the driveways. The audio is prices less!

Mary Mary Quite Contrary

How does your garden grow? With pepper plants and tomatoes, too, I hope!
James and I worked hard yesterday mowing the yard and spraying weeds.
We also bought a tomato plant, jalapeƱo,  and sweet pepper plant. Hopefully I can keep them alive long enough to get some fresh veggies.

Our Wal-Mart didn't have out any flowers yet, so I went inside in search of seeds (hoping they will actually grow). James was looking at all the vegetable seeds and he decided he wanted to try and grow some carrots. I know nothing about growing carrots, but said ok, what the heck. So we bought a little pot and he planted them. I guess if they sprout, we'll have to move them to a bigger pot or in the ground somewhere?

I also re-did my flower bed. I didn't mess  with it at all last year, so it was quite a chore! I used the hoe and dug out all the grass again. Re-arranged my rocks to make it smaller and them filled in with a little more dirt. I plan on putting my elephant ears here. I still have some rocks left over, so I may try to tackle another small flower bed, We'll see :)

By the way, the rocks came from an old rock storage building my mom has out behind her house. When we move, these rocks are coming with me!
